UN ESPACIO DE CONSTRUCCIÓN

Un espacio de construcción surge de entender el formato y los límites de la obra como un condicionante a la hora de configurar la imagen. A partir de diversos materiales, muchos de ellos derivados del proceso, Miquel Ponce crea una serie de composiciones que surgen de esa estructura del límite, configurada a partir del espacio en el que se acota la obra. Los trabajos que aquí se presentan abordan la pintura como algo que se desarrolla en un espacio concreto, el espacio del papel o el espacio del lienzo. Entre estos límites es donde ocurre esta construcción de imágenes, que se articulan de un modo estructural y que muestran a su vez las marcas y los restos del proceso de construcción. La serie de collages realizados entre 2020 y 2021 muestra el interés por trabajar en torno a un sistema, que evidencia los aspectos materiales y procesuales. Trabajando con distintos elementos como papeles, lijas, o ceras, las obras adquieren un carácter físico e incluso táctil, que se acaba trasladando a otros formatos.

Un espacio de construcción arises from understanding the format and boundaries of the artwork as a constraint when configuring the image. Using various materials, many of which stem from the process itself, Miquel Ponce creates a series of compositions that emerge from this boundary structure, shaped by the space in which the artwork is confined. The works presented here approach painting as something that unfolds within a specific space, the space of paper or canvas. Within these confines is where this construction of images occurs, structured in a way that also reveals the marks and remnants of the construction process.
The series of collages created between 2020 and 2021 demonstrates an interest in working within a system that highlights the material and procedural aspects. Working with different elements like papers, sandpapers, or waxes, the works take on a physical and even tactile character, which ultimately translates into other formats.
